He was the son of Mary Hardy and the brother of Flora and Arthur Hardy of 38 Curtis Street Hucknall Torkard. He was the husband of Rhoda (née Spinks) Hardy and the father of Albert Henry and Gladys May Hardy. In 1911 they lived at 32 Curtis Street Hucknall Torkard.
He was a miner (loader).
