17th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Private Frank Stephen Bakewell enlisted on 12th June 1915 at Nottingham. He went to France 6th March 1916 and was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, aged 18, during the British attack at Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
