Edmund John Shaw was the son of John Henry Shaw and Elizabeth Barwell who married at Nottingham in 1897. Their children included: Edmund John (b.1898), Henry (b.1899), Albert Edward (b.1901), Elsie (b.1904) and Hilda (b.1907). The Shaw family lived at: 44 Prospect Street, Old Radford [C.1901]; 16 Arthur Terrace, Independent Street, Radford [C.1911 & n.e.p.22.5.1917]. John Henry Shaw, who was a lace machine builder [C.1901] and lace machine jacquard needle maker [C.1911], died at Nottingham, aged 86, in 1960. His wife, Elizabeth, had predeceased him, dying in Nottingham in 1918, at the age of 44.
