He the son of Thomas and Eliza Goacher and the brother of Ernest and Ann Goacher. In 1901 they lived at 38 Millot's Yard Hucknall Torkard Nottinghamshire. He was the husband of Rose (née Taylor) Goacher and the father of May and Dorothy Goacher. In 1911 they lived at 30 9th Avenue Forest Town Mansfield.
He was an errand boy in 1901 and a miner (hewer) in 1911.

Machine Gun Corps (Infantry)
Sergeant Arthur Goacher, enlisted at Mansfield, he initially served with the service number 13974 in the Leicestershire Regiment, he landed in France on 1st April 1915 and was serving with the 55th Battalion Machine Gun Corps, when he died of wounds on 2nd June 1918. He is buried in Pernes British Cemetery.
