Thomas William was born in1891 the son of Henry a coal miner and Mary Ann Cox (died 1892) of 3, New Eaton Long Eaton Derbyshire. He was the brother of James Henry, Robert and Harriet M Cox. In 1891 they lived at Screw Mill Row Harsthorne. In 1901 Thomas and his brother Robert were living with their uncle Robert Jacques, also a coal miner, and his wife Alice and son Charles Jacques in New Lane Blackwell. In 1911 Thomas was living at 3 Atherton Cottages Common Row Huthwaite Nottinghamshire with Charles Hassell and family. Henry Cox married Florence Elizabeth Johnson at Burton upon on Trent in 1898 and they had five children. They lived at Honysucks Cottage Harthill Sheffield. Henry worked as a shepherd.
Thomas was a coal miner.
