He was the son of Jonas and Harriet Owen and the brother of Beatrice and Wallace Owen. In 1911 they lived at Alexandra Villas Diamond Avenue East Kirkby.
He was a carrier's assistant.

Private David Owen, served with the 1/7th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment (Robin Hood Rifles), he was killed in action on 3rd October 1917. He is buried in Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe.
