Thomas Cragg was born in 1891 and was the son of James a lace maker and Harriett Cragg née Bembridge of 25 Bulwer Road, Radford, Nottingham. His father James was born in 1851 in Draycott, Derbyshire, his mother Harriett Bembridge was born in 1862 in Radford, they were married in 1889 in Nottingham and went on to have 6 children all of whom were born in Radford, James(Joseph) b1889 Thomas b1891, Nellie b1896, May b1898, Mabel b1901 and Elsie b1904. In the 1911 census the family are living at 25 Bulwer Road, Radford and are shown as James 56 yrs a lacemaker, he is living with his wife Harriett 51 yrs and their children , James 22 yrs a house painter, Thomas 20 yrs a grocers carter , Nellie 18 yrs a box maker, May 14 yrs a cigarette maker, Mabel 10 yrs a sholar and Elsie 7 yrs a scholar.
He was a grocers carter.

57th Bty Royal Field Artillery
Gunner Thomas Cragg enlisted in Nottingham and served with 57th battery Royal Field Artillery. He landed in France on 16th August 1914 and was killed in action on 2nd May 1915. He was buried in Duhallow ADS Cemetery, Belgium, grave reference VIII B 20
