He was the son of Henry and Treziah Hebditch and the brother of Ellen and Adelaide Hebditch. In 1911 they lived at 22 Manor Street Nottingham.
In 1911 he was a hosiery stitcher.

Private Henry James Hebditch enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 2nd Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, he died of wounds on 14th October 1916. He is buried in Grove Town Cemetery, Meaulte.
Death notification published 21st October 1916 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “HEBDITCH. – Died of wounds, Oct. 14th, 1916, Private Harry Hebditch, Lancashire Fusiliers, only beloved son of Mr. and Mrs. H.
