Person Details
Bulwell, Nottingham
Albert Wood was the son of Joseph Wood and Mary Murden who married at Bulwell St Mary’s Church in May 1875. Their children included: George (b.1876), Wright (b.1878), Eliza Jane (b.1879), Nancy (b.1881), Albert (b.1883), Mary [Polly] (b.1885), James (b.1887), Nathan (b.1889), Barbara Ella (b.1890), Bertram (b.1892), Elizabeth [Lizzie] (b.1893) and Ella (b.1895). The Wood family lived at: 108a Coventry Road, Bulwell [C.1891]; 154 Hempshall Lane, Bulwell [C.1901 & C.1911]. In 1907 Mary Wood died at Nottingham, aged 49. Joseph Wood, who latterly was a colliery engine driver, probably died in the Basford registration district in 1925, aged 81. In 1906 Albert Wood married Emma Lizzie Thorpe at Nottingham. They had one child: Albert Edward Leslie (b.1906). In 1911 they were living at 26 Holden Square Cinderhill Nottingham. When his widow placed a death notice in the local newspaper for Private Albert Wood she gave her address as 13 Landseer Street, Radford [n.e.p.24.10.18]. His widow does not appear to have remarried and, if this was the case, she died in the Basford registration district, aged 59, in 1943.
