Private Wilfred Taylor, enlisted at Newark on 17th October 1914 and served with the 1/8th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment. He landed in France on 2nd March 1915 and was seriously wounded in action on 23rd April 1915, dying later that day in hospital at Bailleul. He is buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery.
