Arthur Bernard Kent was born in 1887 the youngest son of Enoch a mason and builder and Mary Kent (née Belshaw). His parents were born at Nottingham, Enoch in 1847 and Mary 1849. Married in 1869, they had four other children - Mary Ann b.1876, Bertha Lilian b.1877, Enoch b.1881 and Maud b.1882. Enoch senior died in 1898 in Nottingham aged 52. Arthur Bernard Kent married Mabel Baker in 1915 in Nottingham. They had two sons Ronald b.1916 and Sidney b.1917 and lived at 21 Young Street Bluebell Hill Nottingham.
In 1911 Arthur was a stone mason.

Arthur Bernard Kent formerly served with 2/4th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. He died on 3rd March 1918. [1] and is buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen Grave Reference P.V.P. 8 B
Death notice published 4th March 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post: “KENT. – March 3rd, at Military Hospital, Pte. A. B. Kent, beloved husband of Mabel, 21, Young-street, and youngest son of Mrs. Kent, Bangor-street.” In memoriam published 3rd March 1919 in the Nottingham Evening Post: “KENT. – In loving memory of my dear husband, Arthur Bernard, who died in France, March 3rd, 1918.
