Lot Torr (junior) was born in 1891 the son of Lot Torr (senior) a general labourer and Emily Beatrice Torr née Sharpe and the brother of Nelly, Lawrence, Horace John, George, William Henry, Janet, Emily, Molly and Ivy Torr. Lot Torr (senior) was born in 1859, Emily Beatrice Sharpe was born in 1863 both were born in Nottingham, married in 1880 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they went on to have 10 children, ! died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 they lived at 20 Hyson Street, Hyson Green Nottingham. Lot (senior) is 52 yrs and a general labourer and Lot (junior) 20 yrs a dye house worker. Lot Torr (junior) married his wife May Elizabeth Wardle (born 21st May 1891) in 1912 at Nottingham, they lived at 21 Bridlington Stretet, Nottingham. Commencing 1st April 1918 his widow May was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.
In 1911 he worked in a dye house.
