John William Martin

John William Martin known as William was born in 1899 at Radford he was the son of John Martin and Emma Ellen Martin née Williamson and the brother of Emma Ellen and Charles Edward Martin. In 1911 they lived at 48 Saville Street and later 27 Bloomsgrove Street (both Radford Nottingham).

Private John William Martin served as William Martin, he enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 8th battalion East Yorkshire Regiment, he died of wounds on 26th September 1917, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cott memorial.
