Charles was born in 1879 and was the son of William Ambrose Worvill a shoe maker and Mary Ann Worvill née Allen of Tingewick Buckinghamshire. His father William Ambrose was born in 1848 in Tingewick, Buckinghamshire and his mother Mary Ann Allen was born in 1854 in Crowle, Worcestershire, they were married in 1876 in Buckinhamshire and went on to have 3 sons, Frederick William b1877, Allen Edmund b1878 and Charles b1879 all the sons were born in Tingewick. Charles married Alice Rhoda Steeden in 1907 in Buckinhamshire and they lived at Gedling Villas Kent Road Mapperley Nottingham. In the 1911 census they are living at Gedling Villas, Kent Road, Mapperley, Charles is 30 yrs a fireman at a colliery he is living with his wife Alice Rhoda 24 yrs and their son Leonard William 3 yrs , also living at the address with them is his mother in law Jane Steeden 64 yrs.
He is a fireman at a colliery in 1911.

Sergeant Charles Worvill enlisted at Nottingham, he died accidentally on 5th March 1916 and is buried at Brewery Orchard Cemetery grave reference IV B 34
Obituary published in the Nottingham Evening post dated 15th April 1916 : - “WORVILLE. [sic] – Accidentally killed, March 5th, Sergeant C. Worville (Notts.) R.F.A. (late R.G.A.), beloved husband of Alice Worville. “Let us then be up and doing. With a heart for any fate. Still achieving, still pursuing.
