1/7th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
He enlisted in Nottingham into the Sherwood Foresters and served in the 1/7th (Robin Hood) battalion and was killed in action on the first day of the battle of the Somme. He was awarded the Military Medal.
