Albert Bee (junior) was born in 1896 at Nottingham and was the son of Albert Bee (senior) a fitters labourer and Amelia Bee née Saxton of 9 Meredith Street, St Ann's Well Road, Nottingham. His father Albert (senior) was born in 1871 at Radford and his mother Amelia Saxton was born in 1872 at Nottingham. They were married in 1892 their marriage was recorded in the Nottingham registration district, they went on to have the following children, Lily b1891, William b1893, Annie b1898, Thomas b1903 and Frederick Bee b1911 all were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family lived at 9 Meredith Street St. Ann's Well Road Nottingham and were shown as Aolbert 40 yrs a fitters labourer, he is living with his wife Amelia 39 yrs a lace mender and his children, Lilly 20 yrs a lace mender, William 18 yrs a lace winder, Albert 15 yrs a printers typer, Annie 13 yrs a scholar Thomas 9 yrs a scholar and Frederick 2 months old.
In 1911 he was a printer typer.

1/7th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Private Albert Bee enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 1/7th battalion Sherwood Foresters. He was killed in action, 1st July 1916, aged 20, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
