William Wilson Taylor was born in 1890 the only son of William an iron worker and Margaret Taylor née Jackson of Franklin Road Jacksdale Nottinghamshire. William was born in 1862 at Bersham, Denbeighshire, Margaret Jackson was born in 1869 in Denbighshire, married in 1888 their marriage was recorded in the Wrexham registration district.
He was an architect's assistant.

15th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Private William Taylor, enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Selston and served with 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment, he was killed in action during a German trench raid on 30th May 1916 and is buried in St. Vaast Post Military Cemetery, Richebourg-L'Avoue.
In memoriam published 30th May 1917 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “TAYLOR. – In loving memory of Private Walter Taylor, killed in action May 30th, 1916.
