Gallipoli veteran, Q.M.S. Ernest William Baker, 20th Battalion Australian Infantry Battalion, A.I.F., died of wounds received earlier that day on 14th May 1918. He is buried in Querrieu British Cemetery. Baker had been the Chief Instructor of Cooking at the 1st Anzac Corps School from 17th July 1917; the Second Army Cookery School on 8th September 1917; returning to unit on 18th September 1917.
