Arthur Wynne Williams was born on 20th Janaury 1892 at East Barkwith and was the e son of Robert Owen Williams and Clementina Eliza Williams née Knight of The Dower House Easton Lincolnshire. His father Robert Owen was born in 1862 at Wrexham, his mother Clementina Knight was born in 1860 at Llanrwst, Denbighshire they were married in 1885 at Llanrwst and went on to have the following children, Eira b1886 Denbigh, Elsie b1888 Stamford, Lincs, Roderick b1890 Stamford and Arthur Wynne b1892 East Barkwith. In the 1911 census his parents are living at Hartley Lodge Lincoln and are shown as Robert Owen Williams 49 yrs a land agent and surveyor, he is living with his wife Clementina Eliza 50 yrs and their daughter Eira Knight Williams 26 yrs no occupation listed , also living with the family are two female servants a cook and a housemaid. Arthur Wynne emigrated to Canada in 1912, he is shown as being a passenger on the Ship Tunisian leaving Liverpool on 14th June 1912 travelling to Montreal, Quebec, Canada he is shown as being 20 yrs and a labourer.

Private Arthur Wynne Williams enlisted at Valcartier, Canada on 17th September 1914 he gave his age as 21 yrs and 9 months, he stated he was a surveyor and he was born on 20th January 1892 at East Barkwith, his next of kin was his father Robert Owen Williams of Nettleham Road, Lincoln. He was posted on 22nd September 1914 to 7th battalion Canadian Infantry. He landed in France on 6th June 1915. He was killed in action on 8th August 1918 the first day of the Battle of Amiens. He is buried at Hangard Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. 1.A.10
The connection with North Collingham is that he family are recorded in a trade directory as living at Crescent House, Low Street, Collingham in 1916.
