Thomas Cripwell Wilson was born on 26th April 1881 Dulwich London and he was the son of Thomas, an auctioneer, and Mary Carr Wilson of 5 Mount Hooton Terrace Forest Road and later 21 Arthur Street (both Nottingham) England. His father was born in 1853 in Leciester and his mother Mary Carr Wilson was born in 1859 in Nottingham, they had a further son Samuel W Wilson who was born in 1879 in Dulwich, London. Thomas Emigrated to Canada before the war.
Educated at Nottingham High School. Well known in cricketing circles as a batsman.

Private Thomas Cripwell Wilson attested on 28th September 1915, he was a farmer at the time of his enlisted and was living in Whonnock, British Columbia, Canada. He served with 2nd Mounted Rifles (1st Central Ontario Regiment), 8th Canadian Brigade, 3rd Canadian Division, Canadian Contingent. He was wounded in 1915 and returned to France in 1917. His name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
CWGC: age 40 War obituary, All Saints Church News, December 1917: 'Tom C Wilson, 5 Mount Hooten Terrace, Canadian Army, killed in action October 30th 1917. Before leaving Nottingham for Canada he was well known in local cricketing circles as a batsman.' Death Notice published 14th November 1917 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “Tom C. Wilson, Canadians, son of Mr. T. Wilson, auctioneer, Mount Hooton-terrace, Forest-road, Nottingham, was killed in action on October 30th. When in Nottingham the deceased soldier took a great interest in local cricket, being a prominent member of the Commercial Club. He was a stylish batsman and played many good innings for the club.
