Henry Seymour known as Harry was born in 1870 at Nottingham He married Eliza Roberts (born 18th February 1872 ) they were married in 1894 in Nottingham, they lived at 5 Olive Yard, Barker Gate, Nottingham, they had the following children, George Henry b1894 , Nellie b1902, Walter b1904, Lucy b1906, and Violet b1913. In 1901 they lived at 5, Wool Alley and in 1911 at 5, Olive Yard, (both Barker Gate Nottingham). Following his death his widow Eliza was awarded a pension of 28 shillings and 9 pence a week commencing 20th August 1917.
In 1911 Henry was a lace machine builder, Eliza a net mender and George Henry worked as a van boy.

Private Harry Seymour was attested on 1st December 1914 at Nottingham giving his age as 44 yrs and his address as 5 Olive Yard, Barker Gate, Nottingham. and served with the 7th battalion Sherwood Foresters until he was medically discharged on 15th September 1916 due to Gastritis age 45 yrs, he saw no service overseas. He died on 9th September 1916 of Paralysis and carcinoma of the stomach and is buried at Nottingham General Cemetery.
Nottingham Evening Post Roll of Honour 11/9/1916: 'Seymour. Died through illness, September 9th, Private Harry Seymour, Notts & Derby, late of 5 Olive Yard, Barker Gate. He did his duty. Sorrowing wife and children.'
