He was the son of George and Anne Bellaby and the brother of Edward John and Hilda Annie Bellaby. In 1911 they lived at 21 Palin Street Alfreton Road Nottingham.
In 1911 he was a tobacco packer.

Royal Army Medical Corps
Private William George Bellaby served with the Royal Army Medical Corps, attached to 5th Company Reserve Park Army Service Corps. He died accidentally on 1st January 1917 and was buried in Lacres Churchyard, Pas de Calais (South East corner, 2), one of three men, all RAMC, who are buried there.
'In memoriam' notice published in the Nottingham Evening Post on 1st January 1918: “BELLABY. – In loving memory of L-Cpl. W. G. Bellaby, R.A.M.C., accidentally killed January 1st, 1917.
