Hibbert George Harris was born in 1884 the son of Henry a joiner and Elizabeth Harris (née Wallis). Harry Harris was born in 1849 at Dronfield, Elizabeth Hardy Wallis in 1850 at Ilkeston. They were married in 1870 at Ilkeston and had 15 children. Hibbert George Harris married Margaret May Bell in 1905 at Pontefract and they had the following children, Queenie born 2nd June 1905 Pontefract, Edna Mabel born 20th June 1907 Sheffield and Lily May born 24th May 1909 at Aldershot Doris born 6th July 1911 and Marjorie born 10th November 1913. In 1911, Hibbert’s parents and siblings were living at 165 Berridge Road, Hyson Green, Nottingham. In 1911, Hibbert’s family was living in military barracks at Wakefield Road, Pontefract but Hibbert has not been traced on the 1911 Census. Following his death his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 6 pence which commenced on 19th April 1915. His widow re married on 27th December 1915 and went to live at 272 Windmill Lane, Sheffield.
He was a cabinet maker.

Hibbert George Harris enlisted on 8th December 1902 at Nottingham. He died of wounds at the American Ambulance, Neuilly-sur-Seine, Paris. He is buried in Neuilly-sur-Seine New Communal Cemetery, Grave Reference: 4 17 18
