Royal Marine Light Infantry
Harry Poole enlisted 22/12/1899 giving his date of birth as 13/3/1881. However, his birth was registered A/M/J 1879 so his probable date of birth was 15/3/1879. He cited Emma Poole, his sister, as next of kin. She by then lived at 15, Manor Avenue, and later at 3, Minerva Place, Keswick Street (both Sneinton). He re-enlisted 22/12/1911. In addition to spells ashore at Chatham, Poole served aboard Irresistible, Wildfire, Resolution, Endymion, Croesus, Natal, Hyacinth, Balmoral, Cyclpos II and Victorious III. Throughout his marines career, Pool's conduct was good or very good. He was invalided out of the service 22/10/1919 and died at Nottingham J/A/S/1920.
