Peter Dove

Peter Dove was born in 1898 the son of the late John Charles a coal miner hewer and Harriet Dove née Wilkinson and the brother of Joseph, Charles, Ellen, John Harold, Harriet and Elizabeth Dove of 44 Willowbridge Lane, Sutton in Ashfield. John Charles was born in 1860 at Sutton in Ashfield, he died in 1912 aged 53 yrs, Harriett Wilkinson was born in 1866 also at Sutton in Ashfield, married on 26th December 1882 in Sutton in Ashfield they went on to have 14 children, sadly 3 died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family lived at West End Sutton in Ashfield Nottinghamshire.

Private Peter Dove enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Sutton in Ashfield. He was killed in action on 4th July 1916, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loss memorial
