Person Details
Leonard Gibbons was the son of Francis Robert Gibbons and Mary Eleanor Yarnold, who married at Nottingham in 1890. Their children included: Mabel (b.1890), Percy George (b.1892), Leonard (b.1894) and Nellie (b.1898). The Gibbons initially were living with the Yarnolds at 42 Garfield Road, Radford in the 1891 census. They had the house all to themselves by 1911 and Francis Robert Gibbons was the person on the electoral roll for that address in 1915. Later the Gibbons family moved to 13 Argyle Street, Radford [n.e.p.5.8.1917 & CWGC]. Francis Robert Gibbons, who was a lace draughtsman, died at Nottingham, aged 79, in 1950. His wife, Mary Eleanor, predeceased him, dying at Nottingham, aged 54, in 1925. On 1 October 1916 Leonard Gibbons married Ann Hickling at Radford St Michael’s Church. It appears that she never remarried and if this correct, Ann Gibbons died at Nottingham, aged 98, in 1991.
In 1911 he was a carter.
