Arthur Sidney was born in 1898 the son of Harry a waiter and Kate Richardson née Burns. Harry was born in 1875 at Boston Lincolnshire, Kate Burns in 1874 at Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. Married in 1908, they had five children - Harry Cecil b.1897, Arthur Sidney b.1898, John Francis b.1901, Doris May b.1906 and George Edwin Richardson b.1908. In 1911, they lived at 30, Peas Hill Road, St Ann’s Nottingham. Harry Cecil was a grocer’s boy. Harry senior and Kate Richardson later lived at 12, Carnarvon Street, Woodborough Road, Nottingham.

Sidney Arthur Richardson enlisted in Nottingham and died in Carrington Military Hospital. He is buried in the Nottingham General Cemetery and commemorated on the screen wall in the cemetery. Grave Reference: 03355
He was registered (J/A/S/1898) Arthur Sidney and is cited Arthur Sydney on the 1911 Census. UKSWD has Sidney Arthur and CWGC Sydney Arthur. In memoriam published on 4th June 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “RICHARDSON. – In loving memory of our son, Pte. Sidney Arthur Richardson, Hussars, who passed away June 4th, 1917.
