Alfred Thomas Wright was born on 9th July 1878 he was baptised on 4th September 1878 at St Johns, Mansfield, he was the son of Joseph Wright a moulder and the late Mary Ann Wright née Brothwell of 9 Manvers Street, Mansfield. Joseph was born in 1847 at Mansfield Mary Ann Brothwell was born in 1848 at Nottingham, she died in in 1910 aged 62 yrs, they were married on 19th October 1867 at St Mary's Nottingham, they had 8 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood. Alfred married Ada Barrows on 16th September 1901 at St Johns, Mansfield, they had 2 children, Phyllis May born 7th June 1902 and Hilda Mary born 15th January 1908 however Ada died in 1910 . In 1911 Alfred Thomas was living with his widowed father Joseph at 9 Manvers Street, Mansfield, Joseph 44 yrs a widow and a moulder is living with his widowed son Alfred Thomas 32 yrs an insurance agent and his two children Phyllis May 8 yrs and Hilda Mary 3 yrs. Alfred remarried Emma Mycroft (born 3rd January 1882) in 1913 at Mansfield they lived at 1 Sadler Street, Mansfield they had a son Thomas Brothwell born 29th November 1913. Commencing 11th February 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 26 shillings and 3 pence a week.
He was an insurance agent.

262nd Siege Bty Royal Garrison Artillery
Gunner Alfred Thomas Wright enlisted at Mansfield, he served with the 262nd Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, he was killed in action on 25th July 1917 he is buried at Vlamertinghe New Military Cemetery, Belgium.
