Frederick Joseph Beale was born in 1887 the son of Frederick George a printers labourer and his first wife the late Fanny Beale née Painton Frederick George was born in 1860 at Oxford, Fanny Beale nee Painton was born in 1863 in Berkshire, she died in 1901 aged 38 yrs, they were married on 21st February 1886 at St Pauls Church, Oxford, they went on to have the following children, Fred Joseph b1887, Percy John b1892, Daisy b1894 and Rose b1896 all were born in Oxford. Following the death of his mother his father went on to remarry on 19th April 1903 to Sarah Kate Nash at St Pauls Church Oxford, they went on to have the following children, Gladys b1904, Ronald b1907, Ethel Kate b1909,Florence May b1910 and Annie Kate b1913 all were born in Oxford. In 1911 the family lived at 2 Jericho Street Oxford and were shown as Fred George 51 yrs a printers labourer, he is living with his second wife Kate 32 yrs and his children, Fred 24 yrs a brewers labourer, Percy John 19 yrs a butcher, Daisy 17 yrs a servant, Rose 15 yrs a servant, Gladys 7 a scholar, Ronald 4 yrs, Ethel 2 yrs and Florence May 6 months old. Frederick married Alice Fanny Bull in 1911 which was recorded in the Oxford registration district, they lived at 21 Midland Terrace, Stapleford, Commencing 21st August 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 12 shillings and 6 pence a week she was living at Water Lane Castle Bytham Grantham when the pension was awarded.

Private Frederick Beale enlisted at Nottingham, landing in France on 25th August 1915. he was killed in action on 9th February 1916 and is buried at Brewery Orchard Cemetery, Bois Grenier, France.
Remembered on
