George was born in 1849 at Pammington, Gloucestershire, Ellen Ball was born in 1854 at Brecon, Wales, married in 1879 at Brecknock In 1911 they lived at 41 Brookhill Road Stapleford Nottinghamshire.
He was a butcher in 1911.

Private Albert Edward Cresswell enlisted at Nottingham initially serving with the service number 238617 in the Royal Engineers, he was killed in action on 24th October 1915 whilst serving with the 6th battalion The Black Watch and is buried in Thiant Communal Cemetery, France.
