Person Details
Reditch, Worcestershire
Charles Osborne was the third child of William and Elizabeth Osborne. He was born in 1888 at Redditch, Worcestershire, as were his four siblings, Thomas, Hannah, Nellie and John. There must have been a local factory that manufactured fishing tackle, as William, some of his offspring and many living in the street, were em-ployed in this capacity. In 1901 the family were living at 2 Parsons Row, Redditch and in the next decade, Wil-liam had died. His widowed wife had moved to 2 Glover Street, Redditch, by 1911, and was now head of the family, with son John and daughters Nellie and Hannah. (Hannah was now married with husband and two children). Charles had left the family home, later working at Welbeck, Nottinghamshire.
