John George Hudson was born in 1891 at Haconby, Lincolnshire, he was the son of David Stennett Hudson a brick layers labourer and Elizabeth Hudson née Pearson of Wellow Road, Ollerton, Nottingham. His father David Stennett was born in 1859 at Revesby, Lincolnshire, his mother Elizabeth Pearson was born in 1861 at Cowbit, Lincolnshire, they were married in 1880 their marriage was recorded in the Spalding registration area, they went on to have the following children, William b1884 Carrington, Lincs, Thomas b1885 Carrington, Lincs, Anne b1887 Frith. Lincs, Ellen b1889 Lincs, John George b1891 Haconby, Elisabeth b1894 Haconby, Stennett b1896 Haconby and Horace b1900 Haconby. In the 1911 census he has left the family home, he is shown as being 20 yrs of age a farm labourer and is boarding at Harenhouse near Wainfleet, Lincolnshire, he is living with Elizabeth Smith a widow 54 yrs John married his wife Annie Simms in 1913 in Nottingham, they lived at 19, Constance Street, New Basford, Nottingham, they had 2 children, Arthur born 16th November 1913 and Charles Edward born 8th September 1915. Following his death his widow Annie was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 5 pence a week which commenced on 24th February 1919.
He was a farm labourer.

Private John George Hudson enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 10th battalion Sherwood Forests (Notts & Derbys Regiment.) He died of wounds on 18th August 1918 and is buried in Mount Huon Military Cemetery, France grave reference VII. A. 12A
