Arthur was the son of George a retired pyrotechnist manufacturer and Elizabeth Pinder née Perry of The Crown Hotel Wells-next-the-Sea Norfolk. he was the brother of George born in 1893, Sidney Rueben (killed in action with the RFC 19/2/1918) born 1890, Georgina (born 1886) and Frances Mary (born 1888). In the 1911 the family lived at Lidgett House in Edwinstowe. His probate was proven on 9th April 1920 at London and shows him as Arthur Pinder of Edwinstowe first air mechanic, R.F.C. died on 1st July 1917 at the hospital at Coventry, his effects of £354 were left to George Pinder retired manufacturer.
He was a domestic chauffeur.
