Father: Harry Faulks, born in 1860 at Lowdham, Nottinghamshire and working as a joiner. Mother: Elizabeth Ann Faulks, born in 1864 at Owthorpe, Nottinghamshire. Brothers:John Henry, born in 1890, and working as a railway wagon builder (c1911) and later working as a joiner and undertaker (1916 National Probate Register), and John Charles Murfit, adopted son, born in 1900. Sister: Beatrice, born born in 1893 and working as a cardboard box hand. Harry and Elizabeth also had two other children who died in infancy, Winnifred (sic) May and Harry. All the children were born in Bulwell, and lived at 47 Upper Lime Street, Bulwell, Nottingham (c1911) although they later moved to 46 Latham Street, Bulwell, Nottingham. Harry Faulks died on July 13, 1916 and probate was awarded to his widow Elizabeth Ann and their son John Henry. Harry Falks' effects were valued at £255. George's sister, Beatrice, died in 1918 aged 26 years. His mother died in September 1944.
George Faulks worked as a pawnbroker's assistant. He was an active member of St. Mary's Church, Bulwell, as well as a Sunday School teacher.

Faulks was killed in action in France whilst fetching assistance to wounded comrades. He is buried in the Guards Cemetery Lesboeufs (grave reference: X.G.6).
CWGC headstone, personal inscription: 'Duty nobly done' Inscription on family gravestone, Nottingham Northern Cemetery, Bulwell: 'Harry the beloved husband of Elizabeth Ann Faulks who fell asleep July 13th 1916 aged 56 years. Also of George their son who was killed in action in France Jany. 10th 1917 aged 20 years. A noble life sacrificed. Also of Beatrice their daughter who died Novr. 28th 1918 aged 26 years. Peace perfect peace. Also Elizabeth Ann beloved wife of the above, died Sep 12th 1944 aged 81 years. Reunited. Also Winnifred (sic) May and Harry their children who died in infancy, interred in Bulwell(?) churchyard.'
