Arthur Harrison was born in 1896 he was the son of William a painter and Elizabeth Harrison, of Sneinton, Nottingham and the brother of Herbert Harrison, of 3 Model Place, Walker Street, Nottingham William was born in 1861 at Hull, Elizabeth was born in 1857 at Nottingham, she died in 1901 aged 44 yrs, they had 8 children, sadly 1 died in infancy or early childhood. In the 1911 census Arthur is living at 65 Walker Street, Sneinton he is living with his widowed father William 50 yrs a painter and two of his siblings, Herbert 23 yrs a carter and Maud 17 yrs, he is 15 yrs and a printers boy.

1/7th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Lance Corporal Arthur Harrison enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 1/7th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He went to France 25th February 1915 and was killed in action, 24th April 1917, aged 21, when a German 8-inch shell burst in the courtyard of battalion headquarters at Lievin, France. He is buried Canadian Cemetery No 2, Neuville-St Vaast (grave ref 4.B.1)
Nottingham Post notice (abridged), 17 May 1917: 'Harrison. Killed by shell April 24th, Lance Corporal Arthur Harrison, 3 Model Place, Walker Street, age 21. Father, brothers.'
