UKNIWM Ref - 26868

Freestanding cross, dedication: 'To the glorious memory of the brave lads of this parish who made the supreme sacrifice in the Great War 1914-1918. Their name liveth for evermore.' The memorial was constructed and erected in Cossall churchyard by Holbrook and Co, Eastwood, at a cost of £167. The money had been raised by Cossall Memorial Committee and the memorial had probably been erected by September 1920: the firm's bill was dated 27 September 1920 and was paid on 8 October 1920. (Nottinghamshire Archives, ref PR21/811/10). The names of those who died in the Second World War have been added to the plinth.
