The church which was built on Derby Road, Nottingham, c. 1856 was closed in 1965 and later demolished. A history of the church gives some details about the Great War memorials: 'The History of the Derby Road Baptist Church, Nottingham' by Rev Sydney F Clark B.D. undated, c1950s. (CRN 0078 4960) “The First World War was a time of great stress and difficulty. 112 names are on the Roll of Honour of those who served in the Forces from the Church and Mission, and 22 [29] names are on the memorial at the end of the Chancel to those who made the supreme sacrifice, and a tablet to the memory of Frank Arnold Bright who was killed when rescuing a wounded comrade, is over the seat he occupied in the Choir stalls.” The book contains a photograph of the church interior and WW1 memorial. The memorial was transferred to the Thomas Helwys Baptist Church, Lenton, which was built with funds from the sale of the site of the Derby Road church. It was put in storage until July 2014 when it was rediscovered and installed in the entrance to the church. A history of the memorial and details of those who are named on it was published in issue 35 (May 2015) of the 'Lenton Times', the magazine of Lenton Local History Society.
