Known as Alfred, he was the son of Walter and Betsy Silvers and the brother of William, Julia, Joseph, George, Mildred, Louis, Sam, Elizabeth, Annie, Hannah and Florence Silvers. In 1891 the family lived at 52 Leicester Street St Ann's Nottingham. In 1901 Alfred was serving with 4th Battalion Derbyshire Regiment at Normanton Barracks Derby. In 1911 the family lived at 9 Luther Avenue Martin Street St Ann's Well Road Nottingham. He was the husband of Emma (née Jackson) Silvers of 79 Pym Street Gordon Road Nottingham. He was the father of James L Silvers.
In 1911 he was a labourer.
