Frank Foster was born on 11th July 1896 at Brinkley near Southwell and was the son of George a market gardener and Hannah Foster née Weaver, of Morton Fields, Fiskerton. His father George was born in 1859 in Woodborough, Nottinghamshire and his mother Hannah Weaver was born in 1857 in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, they were married in 1889 their marriage was recorded in the Sleaford Registration District, they went on to have the following children, George Marshal b1891 Southwell, 1892 William b Brinkley, Ann b1894 Brinkley, Frank b1896 Brinkley and Mary b1899 Fiskerton. In the 1911 census the family are living at Mortonfields, Fiskerton and are shown as George 52 yrs a market gardener he is living with his wife Hannah 54 yrs and their children, George 20 yrs a boiler maker, William 19 yrs a gardener, Frank 14 yrs working at home and Mary 12 yrs a scholar.
He was the 19 year-old son of George and Hannah Foster, of Morton Fields, Fiskerton, Nottinghamshire.

South Nottinghamshire Hussars
Private Frank Foster, enlisted at Southwell on 12th July 1912 and served with the 1/1st South Notts. Hussars. He was mobilised for war in August 1914. He landed in Egypt on 26th April 1915 and served with Egyptian Expeditionary Force until August 1915 when he went to Gallipoli. He was killed in action 22nd August 1915 at Chocolate Hill, Gallipoli. He is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli
