Person Details
Son of Charlie and Emma Elizabeth Clark, of the "Town Arms," Malin Hill, Nottingham (CWGC). A younger brother, Charlie, a lance corporal in the Royal Tank Regiment RAC (44th), was killed aged 25 on 28 November 1941 and is buried in Halfaya Sollum War Cemetery. Their father, Charlie, died 30 August 1952 aged 77 and their mother, Emma, on 28 December 1965 aged 88.
Member of 2nd Nottingham Company Boys' Brigade (Dakeyne Street Lads' Club).

Inscription on family headstone in Nottingham Church (Rock) Cemetery: 'In loving memory of Charlie Clark, beloved husband of Emma Elizabeth, died August 30th 1952 aged 77 years, also Emma Elizabeth, reunited December 28th 1965 aged 88 years. Also their dear sons, Samuel Edward, killed in action, March 27th 1918, aged 21 years, and Charlie, killed in action Novr 28th 1941, aged 25 years. To have, to love, to lose and when God wills to find.'
