He was the son of George and Elizabeth Sibbring and the brother of William, John, Mary, Leonard, Joy and Wilfred Sibbring. In 1901 they lived at 13 Redoubt Street and in 1911 at 15 Beresford Street (both Old Radford Nottingham). They later moved to 52 George Lane Bredbury Stockport Cheshire.

9th Bn Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby Regiment)
Private Arthur Sibbring enlisted on 7th June 1915 aged 31 yrs at Hyde Stockport Cheshire. On 13 June he was posted to 13th Battalion Sherwood Foresters which was a reserve base at Lichfield. On 18 September 1915 he joined the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters on Gallipoli and was with them in Egypt and when they moved to France at the end of June 1916. The battalion took part in the Battle of Messines and on 10 June 1917 were located on the Mahieu - Oosttaverne line. The line was heavily shelled from 10.20 pm until 12.15 am and possibly it was during this that Arthur was killed.He is buried in Irish House Cemetery A.14
