Private John Henry Dring, enlisted in Nottingham , he served with the 12th (Pioneer) Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment. He landed in France on 30th August 1915 and was killed in action on 27th March 1918. He has no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial.
Obituary published in the Nottingham Evening Post dated 27th March 1920 :- “DRING. – In loving remembrance of my dear husband, John Henry Dring who was killed March 27th, 1918.
