The memorial was unveiled in May 1919. The dedication on the memorial reads, 'Erected in token of gratitude to God for victory and to the honour of the men of Eakring who served in the Great War 1914-1918.' As well as the names of those who were killed, the memorial includes the names of those who served (27) and those who were wounded (5).
